Journal #1

Today's reoccurring thought: Learn to be content with how things are, not what they could've been. In this I mean, figure out how to be okay with the way things are. In fact, learn to appreciate them for what they are. Don't let your high hopes for something stop you from enjoying the now. Did today turn out how I expected it to? No. Does that mean I hate today? Also no. I looked for the good instead of feeding into the bad. I was originally upset because of the rain this morning, but throughout the day I began to realize it wasn't quite so bad. The sun occasionally came out, making everything look like it was sparkling. As the rain momentarily cleared up, I rolled my windows down and thanked God for the smell of the fresh, clean world and for a day that felt like the beginning of something new. I can feel change coming, and whether it is good or bad, I will accept it in full.

I am currently looking forward to tomorrow and this weekend.

I am patiently waiting for prom, Alex's Graduation, and next semester.

                    Things I Did Today:

  • reflected while cleaning my car
  • string-wrapped a piece of my hair
  • attended Chemistry
  • made myself fight the urge to spend money

  • tidied my room
  • read a little bit of Luke's Gospel
  • made plans with a friend
In closing, I have had a good overall start to the week. I hope it continues.
